Listen, I’ve been a meat eating bodybuilder my years now and I’ve had the same problem when I switched to a whole food, plant based diet in early 2017.

Looking back, I remember having to deal with digestive problems, bloating, aches and pain and feeling tired all the time.

I had no idea that eating lots of red meat, chicken and a full-fat dairy foods had such a negative impact on my health.

But I didn’t care, I was more focused on building and sculpting my body that I completely neglected my health.

Maybe you can relate somehow?

But here’s where my story gets interesting…

When I made the decision to go fully plant based, I’ll admit I literally struggled for the first month. One of my biggest concerns was where I was going to get my protein from?

As a bodybuilder, I needed to get at least 200 grams of protein a day in order to reach my target goal. It was challenging to say the least but I was determined to make this work for me.

I always believed in the motto, ”You can use your mind to command your muscle grow”. I’m not sure where I got that from but that belief never let me down.

After 28 days of eating a plant based diet, everything changed for the better.

After doing some research online I came across 80-year-old Vegan Bodybuilder Jim Morris who was known for winning competitions over his thirty-year career.

He won titles such as Mr USA, Mr. Universe and Mr Olympia Masters Over 60.

Jim’s story really inspired millions of vegetarians and vegans all over the world.  

It didn’t take long to find other inspiring plant-based bodybuilders that prove that you can beef up without eating meat.

You can probably guess what happened next….

Within 2 weeks of eating high protein plant-based foods, I was making huge improvements in muscle gains.

And on top of that I felt better than I ever felt before.

I know it sounds a little too good to be true. But I have proof that it’s possible to build huge muscle on a plant based diet.

Besides lifting weights at the gym, aim to eat plenty of green leafy vegetables, beans and lentils, nuts, seeds, fresh and frozen fruit and whole grains such as oats and rice.
